1. God’s Word Preserved from the Beginning

From the earliest times, God emphasized the permanence of His Word.

  • 1400 BC (Moses) – God commands His words to be written and passed down:

“You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul… teach them to your children…”Deuteronomy 11:18–19

This shows that God’s instructions were never meant to fade but to be safeguarded from generation to generation.

2. The Prophets Affirm Scripture’s Endurance

Centuries later, the prophets echoed the unchanging nature of God’s Word.

  • 700 BC (Isaiah)

“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”Isaiah 40:8

This verse powerfully confirms that, unlike fragile human works, God’s Word is timeless.

3. Jesus Confirms Its Authority

During His earthly ministry, Jesus Himself relied on Scripture as unshakable truth.

  • 30 AD (Jesus’ teaching)

“For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.”Matthew 5:18

Jesus pointed not only to the inspiration of Scripture but its precision—down to the smallest letter.

4. Apostolic Teaching Reinforces Its Reliability

The apostles, writing under the Holy Spirit, declare the God-breathed authority of Scripture.

  • 65 AD (Paul)

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”2 Timothy 3:16

Paul stresses that Scripture is not man’s invention but God’s own breath, carrying His authority across time.

5. God’s Promise of Preservation for the Future

Finally, Scripture promises its message will endure until the end of time.

  • 95 AD (John)

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”Matthew 24:35 (reaffirmed by John’s writings in Revelation)

Even as the church faced persecution and dispersion, God promised His Word would never be lost.

Conclusion: A Timeline of Assurance

From Moses (1400 BC) to Isaiah (700 BC), to Jesus (30 AD), the apostles (65 AD), and finally to John’s final writings (95 AD), the Bible consistently affirms that God’s Word is unchanging, preserved, and trustworthy.

Even with centuries of translations, what we see is a continuous, Spirit-led safeguarding of God’s truth—pointing us to Christ and the hope of salvation.
